Working at Height Training

At Altius we understand the required safety measures that need to be implemented at the workplace when working at height. We offer a wide variety of courses to address every level of working at height situation, from the operator and supervisor on site to the risk assessor and planner implementing all the correct practices.

Basic Fall Arrest

Fall protection and fall arrest techniques
Duration = 1 Day

The purpose of this course is to establish training and assessment goals in the basic understanding and practical application of fall protection.
Training for a range of fall prevention and fall arrest equipment and techniques.
Targetted at persons who need to gain access to elevated positions using permanent or temporary structures under direct supervision of a person trained in the appropriate access and rescue techniques.

Requirements:
Original ID document or Passport to be presented on the first day of training.
Literacy: Basic reading, writing and communication skills in English.
Numeracy: Basic understanding of numbers, counting, addition, substraction, multiplication and division.

Fall Arrest and Basic Rescue

Fall protection and fall arrest techniques
Duration = 1 Day

The purpose of this course is to establish training and assessment goals in the basic understanding and practical application of fall protection.
Training for a range of fall prevention and fall arrest equipment and techniques.

Confined Space Entry and Rescue

Assess a confined space work area and prepare a rescue plan
Duration = 1 Day

The purpose of this course is to establish training and assesment goals in confined spaces.
To provide the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to identify the hazards of confined spaces.
Identifying the precautions required for the safety of workers and the public.
The course is targetted at persons who need to work in and around confined spaces that are not appropriate for regular human use and that potentially poses a safety risk in terms of atmospheric and physical hazards.

Fall Protection Planning (Online course)

Assess a work site and prepare a fall protection plan
Duration = 3 Online sessions

The purpose of this course is to establish training and assesment goals in the planning of fall protection.
The understanding and practical application of fall protection plans.
Based on a range of work at height disciplines, relevant legislation and standards.
The course is tagetted at persons who need to plan and manage safety while working in fall risk areas.

Rope Rigging

TASC Standard: TA-14706
Rope rigging
Duration = 1 Days

The purpose of this course is to establish training and assessment goals in rope rigging.
The understanding and practical application of rope rigging techniques.
Using technical access equipment to safely transport equipment at height (Max 100kg).
The course is targeted at persons who need to transport and/or install various types of equipment using rope rigging techniques.

Requirements:

Equipment Management and Inspection

Rope access and work at height equipment management and inspection
Duration = 1 Day

The purpose of this course is to teach learners how to inspect and manage all rope access and work at height equipment as per ISO-22846-1&2 standards and worldwide best practices.
​This course is targetted at persons auditing rope access training and operational venues, managing, inspecting and buying rope access and work at height equipment.
